History
Established in 2000.
Gabriel’s Fountain Restaurant was a dream for the Montesano family for many years. Living and working in Martinsville for almost 38 years, founders Al and Marilyn Montesano watched the local ice cream shop open each year in the spring and close in the fall, always wishing it was open all year. First it was the Martinsville Dairy Bar, and later the Country Carnival. They started dreaming about how nice it would be to own the ice cream shop. Eventually, that dream became a reality! The shop was named after the angel Gabriel, who brought the good news to the world and is now a cozy American restaurant, open all year round.
