Practitioners of Musick ~ “18th Century Dutch Music in America” at Abraham Staats House In Person - A live performance of music enjoyed and played in Colonial America by The Practitioners of Musick Join us for this unique opportunity ~ a live performance of music enjoyed and played in Colonial America! The Practitioners of Musick will offer a program that reflects late 17th and 18th century Dutch and English popular music heard in New Netherlands and its capital, New Amsterdam. A march composed in honor of American General von Steuben, who used the home as his military headquarters during the Middlebrook Cantonment of 1778-79, will also be featured. Additional fascinating notes on this vibrant program: http://www.practitionersofmusick.org The Practitioners of Musick ensemble was founded to offer the musical riches of 17th and 18th century Great Britain and Ireland, and the Colonial and early Federal periods in America. Astronomy Tonight at RVCC Planetarium We’ve only got a few weeks left to prepare for the upcoming solar eclipse!  Using the Planetarium’s DigitalSky digital theater, explore why and when we have eclipses, how to view a solar eclipse safely, and experience a guided tour of the stars and constellations of the night sky.  Weather permitting, the 3M Observatory will be open after the show. Solar Eclipse glasses are available to purchase at the Planetarium’s gift shop. (Recommended for ages 8 to adult)
