Enjoy colonial-time fun with the entire family at the 1770s Festival, which is sponsored by the Somerset County Park Commission’s Environmental Education Center (EEC). The event will be held on Oct. 2, from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Lord Stirling Manor, located at 96 Lord Stirling Road (off South Maple Ave), Basking Ridge. If there is heavy rain, the festival will take place at the EEC on 190 Lord Stirling Road, Basking Ridge. Dogs are not allowed. There is a suggested donation of $5 per person.
Visitors will see history come alive through eighteenth-century re-enactors and musicians playing authentic colonial music. The festival will also feature colonial crafts, trade demos, Revolutionary War militias, and a cider pressing demonstration.
