Experience A Colonial Christmas at Bedminster’s circa 1772 Jacobus Vanderveer House & Museum, beginning with a holiday tree lighting, on Friday, November 29 at 7 pm, featuring caroling and free refreshments. The annual two weekend-long celebration of the holidays will follow with festive music, period decorations, re-enactors, holiday shopping, pony rides, visits from Santa, food trucks, gingerbread workshops for parents and children, and a special exhibition from the Knox Museum in Thomaston, Maine.
The Tree Lighting on November 29 will start at 6:30 pm will host caroling with Harmonium Choral Society. Sip some hot chocolate as JVH lights their red, white, and blue Christmas Tree to ring in the holiday season! Promptly after the tree lighting there will be a candlelight museum tour with festive cocktails and re-enactors portraying barkeeps.
The following weekend on Friday, December 6 from 6:30-8:30 pm, will feature a cocktail reception for supporters of the Jacobus Vanderveer House with lots of boutique shopping and beverages!
Make sure to come by on December 7 and 8 for the Annual Colonial Christmas! This event is great family fun and will feature re-enactors and crafters, boutique artisans and merchants, a teddy bear making workshop (on Sunday, December 8), and more!
