Garden State Art Weekend: Vasant – A Spring Mosaic by Indian Artists
As part of the Garden State Art Weekend's second annual state-wide celebration of New Jersey's diverse and vibrant arts scene, Bridgewater Commons will host the work of 21 artists from the South Asian Artists Association of America (S4A). 'Vasant' means springtime in Sanskrit (the ancient classical language of India) and symbolizes happiness, new beginnings, hope, and prosperity. Come celebrate the arrival of the season through a mosaic of authentic and inspiring art at the Community Hub. The space will be transformed into a lively, vibrant, open, and elegant gallery and cultural venue for three days. S4A is a collective of artists with roots in South Asia now living in the U.S., who work in a wide variety of media including photography, painting, ceramics, sculpture, drawing, and more. They draw inspiration from their South Asian heritage and modern cross-cultural life experiences, exhibiting together to promote and share their work with the public at large. Free and open to all, guests will meet the artists and learn about their approaches, experiences, and inspirations. Families can also partake in art activities and workshops. Check back here for a schedule of activities. Artwork by the artists will also be for sale. Friday, April 25

Our bird watching team – the Watershed Warblers – will be out from dawn to dusk identifying species of birds throughout the Upper Raritan watershed region! This year the Watershed Warblers will be split into three mini-teams: The Adult Team will visit public access areas in the watershed that are home to threatened and endangered species. The Kids Team will visit areas of the watershed that provide fun, safe access to nature for young people. The Accessible Team will visit areas of the watershed that have wheelchair-accessible trails, sit spots, and observation areas suitable for people with disabilities. Email Lauren to learn more about joining one of our teams! Raritan Headwaters works to protect and preserve critical watershed habitat for New Jersey’s native and migratory bird species. Born in the final hours of 1977 in the suburbs of Cork, Ireland, Niall Connolly was raised on a soundtrack that shaped his storytelling soul—Nirvana on the Walkman, Leonard Cohen on his sister’s stereo, and the vibrant voices of Cork’s 1990s music scene. Later came snippets of New York street conversations, tales of woe on the radio, and the hum of highways across Europe. Every experience finds its way into Connolly’s music, woven into melodies that unfold like stories—layer by layer, listen by listen. In the studio, he builds rich harmonies. On stage, he delivers a mix of electricity, sincerity, and humor that captivates audiences worldwide. Niall played to an appreciative - and packed - music room inside the Ross Farm house last winter, so we are thrilled to be able to welcome a larger audience inside the barn on Sunday, May 4 for an unforgettable afternoon of music and storytelling. Seating inside the barn is limited and provided. Early May afternoons can be chilly, so extra layers are recommended. The barn doors open at 1:30 p.m., and the music begins at 2 p.m. Rain or shine—no refunds. |

2025 World Series of Birding
At midnight, on May 19, 1984, 13 teams set out on a 24-hour treasure hunt. Their mission: To tally as many different species of birds by sight or sound. Their objective: To raise money for their favorite environmental cause, and to focus attention on the habitat needs of migrating birds. They succeeded beyond anyone’s dreams and in 2025, we hope to see over 90 teams and participants vie for glory and their share of the excitement in North America’s most spirited conservation fundraising event, the Annual WORLD SERIES OF BIRDING. Join in on the fun while raising money and awareness for bird and habitat conservation. WHY? The World Series of Birding is a “competitive” big day. But just like a marathon, the accent is on participating, not winning. There are many benefits to participants, teams and sponsors. Here are just a handful: It draws attention to the habitat needs of migrating birds It provides birders a chance to test and use their skills for a great cause It provides a forum for interaction between birders, conservation organization representatives and businesses that cater to the birding market It generates hundreds of thousands of dollars for a number of worthy conservation organizations

Each cone that is knocked down, or displaced from the box in which it stands, adds a 2 second penalty. The Venue: The TD Bank Ballpark lot allows courses that yield typical run times of about 45 seconds. Most drivers run the course using 2nd gear. Course map: TBA Minimum Age and License: Drivers must be at least 17 years of age and have full driver's license. Car requirements: You do not need to own or drive a BMW to participate. However, your car should be in safe condition to run at an autocross. Please consult the tech document here. Instruction: Instructors will be available to ride with you at no charge.
