SUMMARY:Chalk-a-Con!
DESCRIPTION:Chalk-a-Con!\n\n  Jun 21\, 2025\n  11:00 AM – 2:00 PM\n\n\nCalling chalk artists of all ages to help complete NJ’s largest mural at Bridgewater Commons’ chalk party filled with music\, face paint\, bubble shows and of course – chalk! \nFor the second year\, artists can fill our park grounds across from Uncle Julio’s with their wildest creations and experience the professional chalk drawings of Anthony Cappetto\, an internationally recognized 3D/4D street artist who works in chalk pastel and/or paint creating illusionary murals on pavement\, walls or both as one unified artwork since 2001. Additionally\, known for blending traditional drawn/painted artwork with still or animated augmented reality (4D) in compositions. Cappetto’s work in 3D and 4D has been created for corporate\, festival\, government\, and international clients globally. \nCappetto’s chalk art concept for this year is still a secret but he shares a clue that it will have an exciting anime theme to delight fans. Young artists can also sign up for exclusive 20-minute chalk workshops with Cappetto by pre-registering on the Bridgewater Commons website. Space is limited. \nChalk art has a rich history\, dating back to ancient times and evolving through various eras. It’s a medium used for sketching\, drawing\, and even street painting. The earliest forms of chalk art can be found in paleolithic cave drawings\, showcasing its use as a fundamental tool for visual expression since prehistoric times. Chalk continues to be used by artists in various styles\, including traditional and avant-garde approaches\, with artists like Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso incorporating it into their work. Chalk art has influenced various art movements\, including street art\, and continues to be a popular medium for artists worldwide. \nWe’ll bring the chalk. You bring your creative ideas and celebrate with an 80’s kids dance party\, colorful face paint\, balloon art\, and an extraordinary bubble art show at 12pm and 1pm. \nPlus! Show the Chalk-a-Con event page on your phone at participating stores for special event-only deals and giveaways! Some of your favorite spots will even have tables set up at the event: \n Face Foundrié – Giveaways + coupons \n Pure Green – Samples\, giveaways + coupons \n Somerset County – Freebies + local happenings \n Build-A-Bear – Special Bear guest + outdoor table fun \n Crêpes Du Nord – $5.99–$6.99 meal deals with juice! \n Açaí Bowl – Smoothie + bowl specials just for you \n Forever Linxx – 20% off your purchase \n Hype World – $1 entry to win a pair of Jordans
