The Lord Stirling Theater Company Presents “She Stoops to Conquer”
Farmstead Arts 450 King George Road, Basking Ridge, United StatesThe Lord Stirling Theater Company will perform their adaptation of Oliver Goldsmith’s classic madcap comedy “She Stoops to Conquer” in the English Barn Theater at the Farmstead Arts Center, 450 King George Road, Basking Ridge, NJ. “She Stoops to Conquer” will open on Friday, May 30, at 7:30PM, with additional performances on May 31 at 7:30PM, June 1 at 2:00PM, June 6 and 7 at 7:30PM, and June 8 at 2:00PM. Tickets are $25 general admission, $23 for seniors (65 and over) and students, $20 for Farmstead Arts members, and $15 for children under 12. Despite being over 200 years old, the commentary on social classes, tension between generations, and romance are still fresh. It is a rom-com for the ages that is part Downton Abbey and part Monty Python. In The Lord Stirling Theater Company’s adaptation set in the early 1900s, upper class couple the Hardcastles are hoping to marry their daughter Kate to Charles Marlow, a snob who turns into a tongue-tied mess when confronted by a woman of his own rank. Please note that there are no picnics at the Display Gardens outside of these times and there are no picnics allowed at the Cut Flower Fields ever. 39th Annual Lebanese Festival
The 39th Annual Lebanese Festival is almost here! This Festival is a great outdoor gathering of families, friends and neighbors for authentic Middle Eastern food, music, dance and culture. Traditional Lebanese foods such as falafel, shawarma (gyro), hummus, spinach pies, tabouhli, stuffed grape leaves and much more will be featured. In addition, there will be a large assortment of Middle Eastern pastries to indulge in. For entertainment, there will be live music featuring a different singer each day. There will also be dancing and folkloric performances along with raffles, prizes, souvenirs and games of chance. Because of the abundance of Middle Eastern cuisine, live music, dancing, and games, the Lebanese Festival is recognized as one of the most outstanding annual events in the community. People from throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and the Tri-State region regularly attend. Admission and parking are FREE and everyone is invited!

Meet at Wallace House & Old Dutch Parsonage State Historic Sites, 71 Somerset Street, Somerville, NJ 08876. Dress for the weather, wear sturdy footgear and bring water and snacks. The walk covers about 3 miles and takes about 1 ½ hours.
