SUMMARY:The Wallace House at 250: New Research and Rehabilitation
DESCRIPTION:The 250th anniversary of the opening of the American Revolution also brings the 250th birthday of the Wallace House. In December 1775\, Scottish emigrant and Philadelphia merchant John Wallace purchased 95 acres at “Hope Farm” from the Old Dutch Parsonage’s Rev. Jacob Rutsen Hardenbergh and oversaw construction of the Wallace House in 1776 and 1777\, unknowingly finishing the house in time for its service as George Washington’s winter headquarters for the Middlebrook Cantonment of 1778-79. \nAnnabelle Radcliffe-Trenner and Kallie Kothmann of Historic Building Architects have led surveys and studies of the Wallace House in preparation for the historic structure’s rehabilitation for Revolution NJ. They share new research and findings into the Wallace House’s history and plans for the rehabilitation due to begin this year. \nAnnabelle is trained as a preservation architect in Scotland and at ICCROM in Rome\, before moving to the United States in 1988. She has specialized in complicated preservation projects that require an innovative approach and the use of advanced technology. She previously sat on the board of Association of Preservation Technology and continues to lecture all over the world. \nKallie is trained in conservation science and has experience in managing construction administration for restoration work. She assists with construction documents and administration\, field surveys\, and materials research. \nExterior rehabilitation of Wallace House State Historic Site is funded in part by a Semiquincentennial Grant from the National Park Service’s Historic Preservation Fund. \nThe Wallace House and Old Dutch Parsonage Association presents this Washington’s Birthday Lecture.

The fourth and final meeting will occur two months later\, giving each participant ample time to carve their woodblocks. At this final meeting\, we will come together again to print each woodblock\, assisting one another in the printing process. This class also includes an additional 6 hours of studio time that participants can use at their discretion during Frontline Arts’ business hours. Frontline will provide the studio space\, inks\, solvents\, newsprint\, and a limited supply of paper or fabric for printing. \nStudents provide: \nFrontline will provide a portion of the materials needed for this course. SUMMARY:2025 International Juried Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Juror\, Erin Woodbrey\, selected the work of twenty-eight artists\, showcasing works of art across many mediums for the 2025 International Juried Exhibition. \n“The selected works reflect a desire to imagine our relationships to the spaces we inhabit anew—to create and embody new possibilities. In the work\, I see a shared impulse to reimagine our material lives and explore new models for caregiving\, resilience\, and celebration. The artworks seem to ask how we might reshape our environments—not just physically but also socially and emotionally.” — Erin Woodbrey
