DESCRIPTION:Comic Book Art: Crafting Stories\nTuesdays\, 5:30 – 8:00 PM \nFour classes:\nMarch 4th\, 11th\, 18th\, and April 1st.\nAges: Adults \nThis class will explore the principles of narrative storytelling and visually interpreting them in comic book form. Students will leave with three to four complete short form stories by the end of the class and a greater awareness of how stories are structured and what makes them work. \nStudents provide: \nNotebook/sketchbook\nPencils\nMicron Pens\nColored Markers (optional)\nThe Writer’s Journey by Christopher Vogler (suggested but optional) \nAbout the Instructor: \nGene Kim is a Korean-American storyboard artist who has worked on shows for Netflix\, Amazon Studios\, Angel Studios\, HBO Max and more. He was previously a CG artist at Disney’s Blue Sky Studios (Ice Age\, Rio) and a CG intern at Pixar Animation Studios before then. His own award-winning original animated and live action work has played internationally on the film festival circuit. Dave is a multi-disciplinary artist specializing in printmaking\, papermaking\, and sculptural book forms. He has exhibited his work in the US and internationally and teaches in New York\, New Jersey\, and Pennsylvania.

Mindfulness. Meditation is a powerful tool for maintaining psychological health and resilience. Since the planetarium offers a dark and quiet space for relaxation\, it is the perfect place for meditation. Enjoy a guided meditation experience in the comfortable\, reclined seats in the RVCC Planetarium. Relax under a night sky filled with stars\, then travel from Earth to beyond our galaxy. (Recommended for ages 10-adult) \nReservations are recommended but not required. Tickets are $11 per person for one show\, $20 per person for two. He is the owner of The Stress Factory Comedy Clubs located in New Brunswick\, NJ and Fairfield County\, CT. \nMatt Lopes is the house comedian at the Stress Factory Comedy Club in Bridgeport\, CT and the co-host of the You Should Be Worried podcast. He’s worked stages such as New York Comedy Club\, Stress Factory NJ\, Funny Bone Comedy Club\, and has amassed over 250k followers across his socials (Tiktok: @maffyooo\, Insta: @notmattlopes). \nBrian Scolaro has appeared on Shameless\, Abbott Elementary\, Night Court\, Dexter\, Mad Men\, Law And Order: SVU\, Bones\, Castle\, Grey’s Anatomy\, The Middle\, Men Of A Certain Age\, Girl Meets World\, and has also had recurring roles as Brian on A Million Little Things\, Uncle Bill on Ten Year Old Tom\, Doug on Sullivan and Son\, Sergio on Kroll Show\, Goblin on Wizards Of Waverly Place\, and many roles on Life and Times of Tim.
