Pay homage to artistic virtuosos of yesteryear at a glorious memorial or steal a glimpse into picturesque chapters from olde public libraries. “You ran WHAT through the press?”
"You ran WHAT through the press?" Saturday, March 1st, 11 AM - 4 PM Join us for a one-day intensive workshop where we will explore experimental printmaking techniques to create unique prints. As a group, we will experiment with various objects, including clothing, stuffed animals, plants, bubble wrap, leaves, fabric, and textures, running them through the press. Participants will work with paper lithography, pressure printing, transfer methods, and various monoprint techniques. Each individual will have the opportunity to explore their creative process. By the end of the session, every participant will have produced two 22x30” prints using unconventional methods, gaining a deeper understanding of how these techniques can enhance their creative possibilities in printmaking. Students provide: Any materials you wish to run through the press should be relatively flat. Suitable items include dried plants, paper cut-outs, clothing, and stuffed animals (without their stuffing). If you have any questions about the materials, please contact Kath at kath AT frontlinearts DOT org. Additionally, bring a sketchbook to jot down ideas and take notes. Lunar New Year @ The Commons
Program Schedule: Arts & Crafts @ Event Space - Saturday, Feb 1 and Feb 2, 12pm – 6pm, Located on the Main Level, next to Vans Live Performance @ Center Court - Sunday, Feb 2, 2pm – 3pm Bridgewater Commons in partnership with The Center for Cultural & Creative Exchange present Lunar New Year @ The Commons, featuring traditional Asian performances and a dragon dance accompanied by the music of beating of drums, cymbals, and gong instruments synchronized to dragon dance movements believed to bring good luck and fortune. The Lunar New Year is the grandest ancient traditional festival in Asia signaling the beginning of spring and the arrival of the new year. Celebrating the Year of the Snake, families are also welcomed to partake in a Chinese arts and crafts workshop at the Event Space on both Saturday, February 1 and February 2 from 12pm – 6pm, located on the Main Level next to Vans. The traditional Chinese giving of red envelopes filled with treats and special offers will delight lucky attendees. This year’s live performances on Sunday, February 2 at 2pm include: Traditional Lion and Dragon dances by the Murray Hill Chinese School Face Change Magic by artist Mister Peng Li Traditional Chinese dances

Bokashi compost is a method that is perfect for those who grow indoors, live in apartments, and want thriving plants during the winter. If you are new in the world of compost or are looking for an indoor solution, this workshop will show you how to make your food scraps into lush nutritious soil for your indoor and outdoor gardens and plants all year round! Pay $15 for the class only or $45 for the class and a Bokashi compost kit. The kit alone costs $35, so this is a great deal!
