IN-PERSON Nature Infused Yoga with NJ Audubon

IN-PERSON Nature Infused Yoga with NJ Audubon Led by Kristin Mylecraine, Yoga Teacher. Yoga is a great way to relax, connect with yourself, and increase flexibility and strength. Explore the connections between yoga and nature in this 75-minute class. No experience necessary; all levels welcome. For ages 15 years and older. Preregistration is required. There will be no classes 12/23, 12/30, 1/13, and 2/17. We are offering an in-person class at the sanctuary and a virtual class online simultaneously. The in-person class has a limit of 10 people. Be sure to purchase the correct ticket. COST: $14 members, $18 nonmembers. Ticket sale ends at 4:30 PM on the Friday before each class. Interested in becoming a member? Maple Sugaring

Maple Sugaring at The EEC Maple sugaring is a tradition in the Northeast that began centuries ago with the Native Americans and Colonists. People of all ages are invited to see this tradition brought to life at the Environmental Education Center (EEC). You will see how trees are tapped, view sap-collecting methods past and present, and see the boiling process that produces delicious New Jersey maple syrup. This 60-minute, outdoor program is conducted at our Sugar Shack, a ½-mile hike from the EEC. Please arrive at the EEC 30-40 minutes before the program start time to purchase tickets and hike to the Sugar Shack to meet your Naturalist.  Please dress appropriately for the weather conditions. Boots are recommended as the trails can be wet, muddy, and/or covered by snow. Tickets cost $6 per student/senior and $7 per adult.

Go Red Fashion Show & Family Health Festival

Go Red Fashion Show & Family Health Festival In recognition of February’s Heart Month, RWJUH Somerset and Bridgewater Commons join forces to present an exciting health focused family festival on the Lower Level and a red-styled fashion show, hosted by Stylist Leslie Patrizio, in Center Court featuring heart survivors and heath care practitioners modeling clothing provided by the mall’s shops. Hair and makeup provided by Tara Beauty Salon & Spa. Family Health activities to include kids’ fitness sessions, friendship bracelet workshops, heart healthy nutrition, a Teddy Bear Clinic and face painting. Speaker to join include Mayor Matthew Moench and Sharan Mahal, MD, cardiologist at RWJUH Somerset and member of RWJBarnabas Health Medical Group, who will discuss the symptoms of heart attacks in women and strategies for good heart health. Free blood pressure screenings will be available. Event guests will also be able to enter to win a $500 shopping spree to any of the participating shops in the fashion show and receive access to special offers at the mall. Exploring the Underground Railroad with Codes at RVCC Planetarium *FREE ACTIVITIES* Explore hands-on activities inspired by codes found in the song “Follow the Drinking Gourd” and in quilt squares to learn more about astronomy and the Underground Railroad, a secretive network of people and places that helped thousands of enslaved people move northward as far as Canada to escape slavery.  Participants may explore hands-on activities and view displays about nature, codes, and African Americans who have made a difference. (Recommended for ages 6-12)

Stone Hearth at Flounder Brewing We are excited to welcome to the Barn for the first time Stone Hearth. Stone Hearth is a traditional bluegrass band playing in central New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania. They cover an assortment of bluegrass standards and classic country songs, along with a few original numbers. They regularly appear at Wind Gap Bluegrass Festival, AFBA bluegrass festival, and the Hunterdon County 4H Fair, as well as many local churches and farms.
