45th Festival of Trees
45th Festival of Trees December is the time to visit the Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center (EEC) to welcome winter and get into the holiday spirit! The festival is an indoor exhibit of decorated trees by various community groups and individuals alike. Enjoy holiday music and relax while viewing the beautiful trees! Suggested donation: $5.00 per person. While they may look difficult to make, learning the design technique is quite easy. You will learn the step by step process used to create these jewels and a little bit of the history behind these small works of art. It’s a lot of fun and the results are always impressive. Santa will begin welcoming children of all ages for visits and photos filled with holiday magic. Located in Center Court on the shopping center’s Lower Level, visits to Santa Celebration will begin Saturday, Nov. 11 through Sunday, Dec. 24. Set amongst 25 garland-topped light curtains (each adorned with thousands of white, glistening lights) and candy-cane inspired twists cascading from high above, Santa Celebration will feature an authentic Kris Kringle perched in his grand velvet chair on an elevated platform behind his adoring guests. 10th Annual Winter Market & Christmas Tree Lighting
Downtown Basking Ridge Basking Ridge10th Annual Winter Market & Christmas Tree Lighting The Winter Market and Christmas Tree Lighting will be held on Saturday, Dec 2, 2023. From 12-7 pm, the Winter Market will be held at Bishop Janes United Methodist Church on 22 S. Finley Ave in Basking Ridge. With over 30 local vendors and artisans, the Winter Market is a great place to shop for holiday wares and pick up gifts for family and friends! Christmas trees and wreaths will also be available for sale. From 5-5:30 pm, the Christmas Tree Lighting will have performances on the front steps of Coldwell Banker at 1 S. Finley Avenue. Ms. Benanti will perform a selection of holiday songs at the Basking Ridge Christmas Tree Lighting. Ms. Benanti has received five Tony Award nominations and won the 2008 Tony Award for her performance in “Gypsy.” She has recently starred in the movies, “No Hard Feelings” and “Tick, Tick… Boom.” Ms. Benanti has also starred on Broadway in 13 shows including “She Loves Me” and “My Fair Lady.” She has appeared in many television shows including Supergirl, Nashville, Life and Beth, and
Fungi Paper Making
Fungi Paper Making 2 Day Class Join Dorothy Smullen, teacher naturalist and instructor at New York Botanical Gardens for a two-part program on making paper from certain polypore fungi. We will make the paper on November 18th and then use the paper on December 2nd to create collage, sculpture and greeting cards. Hillsborough Cinema 111 Raider Blvd, HillsboroughChristmas Movie Toy Drive Saturday, December 2, 2023, at the Hillsborough Cinemas, the PBA will be running its annual movie night toy drive to support foster children and families through Embrella.org. The featured films are The Grinch (2018) and Christmas Vacation and the price of admission is one (1) new toy per guest. Both movies start at 5 p.m. and The Grinch will be available in two theatres and Christmas Vacation will be in one. There is limited seating available so please RSVP on the Evite link (http://evite.me/g2hc8ZytQ6) or QR code shown on the flyer. From 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., there will be complimentary pictures with Santa provided by Memories with Mae Photography.
