Misogyny Papers/Apology: Victor Davson

NJ

“My sensibility as an artist is shaped by my early childhood in Guyana and by the anti-colonial struggle for independence in the 1960s….Misogyny Papers/Apology draws on this spirit of resistance and on a wellspring of socially engaged art. It is my attempt to bring into relief the issues of gender bias, political violence and discrimination against women. In creating a body of work that confronts the dehumanization of women I also confront a system that dehumanizes me as a man who is Black.” — Victor Davson Click Here to Read Victor Davson’s Complete Artist Statement Victor Davson has exhibited widely throughout the northeast United States and in Great Britain, France, the Dominican Republic and Cuba. His work is in the permanent collections of the National Museum of Fine Arts, Havana, Cuba, National Collection of Fine Arts, Guyana, Newark Museum of Art, Montclair Art Museum, New Jersey State Museum, Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum, and Morris Museum. Fall Harvest Days

NJ

Norz Hill Farm has been in our family since 1922 when Hillsborough was very rural and all of our neighbors were farmers. Today most all of you, our neighbors from near and far, are generations removed from farm families so it is very important to us to be able to provide an educational, breathtaking and fun experience while visiting our Farm. Farm Tours The tour takes you on a hay wagon ride from our farm stand area to the farm, then you can get off and see all the animals. Some of the animals you will find are cows, miniature donkeys (yep, we have a Dominick the donkey!), horses, alpaca, sheep, chickens, goats, pigs, bunnies, emu's and even a zonkey. Then when you have had a chance to see all the animals, you can catch the next hayride right to our pumpkin patch. The Corn Maze Each and every year we dedicate our corn maze to either events that happen on our farm or a great local cause. SO while you are here you can be challenged to find your way through our 5 acres of farm fun! Kids' Corner & Fun Things Our Kids Croner is a fun area

Ken Ludwig’s Leading Ladies

NJ

A comedy that involves two Shakespearean actors who find themselves in the Amish country of York, Pennsylvania, mounting Shakespeare plays. The Lord Stirling Theater Company returns to the Farmstead this fall with "Ken Ludwig's Leading Ladies"! In this hilarious comedy, two English Shakespearean actors, Leo and Jack, find themselves so down on their luck that they’re performing "Scenes from Shakespeare" on the Moose Lodge circuit in the Amish country of Pennsylvania. But then, what luck! They hear that dear old Florence of nearby York, PA is about to die and leave her fortune to her two long lost English nephews whom she has never seen. For Jack and Leo it is the work of an instant to turn themselves into nephews Max and Steve and grab the cash. And that’s when the complications set in. Hilarity ensues when it turns out the relatives are actually nieces and not nephews. Things get even more complicated when Leo falls madly in love with the old lady's vivacious niece, Meg, who's engaged to the local minister. "Ken Ludwig’s Leading Ladies” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. (www.concordtheatricals.com).
