The Journey with Romantic Cello (Concert) @ the Farmstead Arts Center

Presented by Mira Kang (cello) and Allison Brewster Franzetti (piano) The end of the Franco-Prussian War in 1871 ushered in a new ear with optimism, regional peace, prosperity, an apex of colonial empires, and technological, scientific, and cultural innovations in the Western world. Until the horror of World War I stroke in 1914 this time period considered as a “Golden Age” which produced many masterpieces of art and literature. This period called “Belle Époque ” conceived the revolutionary changes in the foundation of classical music as well, which later was land-marked as “New Music.” The concert will present the flourished romanticism during this period and the innovative attempts in music in Paris and around. Tickets available in advance or cash only at the door. The Farmstead Arts Center is a center for fine, practical, and performing arts in Basking Ridge, NJ. The Center operates under the Friends of the Kennedy Martin Stelle Farmstead, a 501c3 organization. This program will be held in the Farmstead's wheelchair accessible main building. Parking is available on the Farmstead property, as well as at the parking lot for the Farmstead Park (a two minute walk through tall grass to the barn).
