In this series of 288 paintings, Mon (Long Valley, NJ) encompasses the entry of new places that are both real and fantasy. They comment and reflect on humanity as individuals and as a whole in current issues involving politics or humanitarianism. Mon also invited other artists to participate by designing Flags for the New Land, which resulted in multitudes of ideas and imagery, and 73 flags, which will also be on view. Wine and Beer Tasting To Benefit Bernardsville Library on September 27

On Friday, September 27 from 6:30 to 10:00 pm, the Bernardsville Library Foundation will host a wine and beer tasting, “Raise A Glass for the Library,” at the United States Equestrian Academy (1040 Pottersville Road, Gladstone, NJ 07934) to support Bernardsville Public Library. There will be selections for tasting from more than twenty fine wine importers and distributors and a collection of craft and microbreweries as well as delicious finger food, music and a fabulous silent auction. Tickets are $85 in advance and $95 at the door. Benefactor tickets are also available for $200. The wine and beer tasting is being coordinated by David Wagner of Adelphia Wine Market in Bernardsville, who has chosen a wide variety of 150 different fine, imported wines and local craft beers. There will be more than 20 very knowledgeable brand managers serving samples and also providing tips and interacting with the guests. Monterey Fine Foods and its Director of Catering, Linda Galdieri, have planned a dazzling menu to compliment the wine and beer offerings.
