“Flight of the Butterflies” to be Screened at Bernardsville Library

August 14 @ 7:00 pm
NJ United States + Google Map
Free

The monarch butterfly is an iconic species whose populations have declined by 90% in the last 20 years. Last June, Bernardsville Mayor Mary Jane Canose made the National Wildlife Federation’s Monarch Butterfly Pledge to take action to help save these butterflies, committing to create habitat for the monarch butterfly and pollinators and to educate citizens about how they can make a difference at home and in their communities. In keeping with this pledge, Bernardsville Library will show the documentary film, “Flight of the Butterflies” on Wednesday, August 14 at 7:00 pm. It’s a natural history epic, a compelling detective story, and an adventure! Viewers will experience one of the most incredible natural phenomena on earth–the migration of hundreds of millions of Monarch butterflies–and the remarkable story of a determined scientist and his wife who spent decades unraveling the mystery of where the butterflies disappeared each fall. There is no charge to attend the screening; advance registration is requested at www.bernardsvillelibrary.org or call the library at 908-766-0118 to sign up.
