The Center’s faculty members and judges Helen Marie Farrant, Wendy Hallstrom and Wes Sherman awarded the Sally Bush Memorial Award – Best of Show ($250); Ceramics Award of Excellence ($250); two Awards of Excellence ($100 each); and three Honorable Mentions. Frontline Arts and Frontline Paper are inviting artists nationwide to submit work for an upcoming group show: "The War on the World". The curators of the exhibition “The War On The World” extend to you an invitation to submit up to three works for consideration to hang in the Frontline Arts Gallery throughout November, 2019. “The War On The World” confronts the reality that the leading polluter of our planet is the U.S. military. Given the precarious state of the earth, with our country hostage to mindless greed and racism, fear and hate, the curators hope to construct a vivid picture of where we are, where we could be going and what we can do about it. Our thoughts are to begin immediately and then to expand this exhibit into later next year. In advance of the 2020 elections, we wish to be seen, maybe heard, perhaps inspire. Does it matter? Humanity is part of the Eco-system. As artists, we know something of humanity. So why not. As one great artist of the environment, Edward Abbey, famously said, “Sentiment without action is the ruin of the soul." NJ Audubon: Photography Instructors’ Summer Exhibition at the Wayrick Wildlife Art Gallery David DesRochers and Phil Witt, long-time instructors for the Sherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary’s digital photography workshop series, have been photographing the natural world for decades. Their enthusiasm for both nature and photography is evident in their images — ranging from landscapes to wildlife captured from locations around the world. They, along with this year’s workshop assistants, Cathy DesRochers, Becky Witt, and Jack & Ellen Moskowitz, will have a show of their nature-oriented images in the Wayrick Wildlife Art Gallery between May 31, 2019 and August 26, 2019. There will be an Opening Reception for the exhibition on Sunday, June 2, 2019 between 1pm and 3pm where members of the public can meet the artists. During this program children (and their parents!) will learn all about the wonders of insects. In the sky and under water, Junior Entomologists will explore the local environment using nets, microscopes, field guides, and other tools that scientists use. Part of each program is spent indoors learning about the topic of the month. Then we will go outdoors for a buggy activity. Appropriate shoes are required and please dress for the weather! Attend one, some, or all of the monthly classes.

Somerset Patriots vs. Sugar Land Skeeters Baseball Game

- The Somerset Patriots will host a special 30th Anniversary Celebration of the sports comedy classic Major League. - Actor Corbin Bernsen, who played 3B Roger Dorn in the movie, will appear at the game. - Bernsen will be taking part in an exclusive pre-game Meet & Greet in the Diamond Club from 4:00 pm to 4:40 pm. - Bernsen will be signing autographs and meeting fans on the main concourse for two hours during the game. - There will be music, video clips, trivia, and other activities in celebration of the film. - Come out to the ballpark early to meet and get autographs from all the Somerset Patriots players and coaches in the Sunday Autograph Session presented by Somerset County Park Foundation. - Autographs begin when gates open at 4:00 pm - After the game, everyone gets to Run The Bases in The Diamond Derby.
