Paintings by Renee Post on Display at Bernardsville Library in July Bernardsville Public Library is pleased to present "Adventures,” paintings by Renee Post, in exhibition in the Community Room during the month of July. The show will be on view from July 2 to July 30, 2019. Ms. Post, a graphic designer and retired teacher, lives in Whitehouse Station. She paints both with brushes and pallet knives, and sometimes squeezes the paint directly out of the tube onto the canvas. “To me, art is an adventure,” she says, “I experiment and explore with brushstrokes, color, texture and lighting. The exploration is always moving forward. Starting with a figure or perhaps a shape or lines, my approach to painting is expressive. Feelings, empathy, and humanity drive me to respond to the flow and viscosity of the paint. The conveyance of a feeling, a belief or questioning of the same, is paramount to my creative process. Looking at art is a dialogue between the painting and the viewer. For me, it is exciting and risk-taking, like an exploration of a different shore.” Ms. Post has been painting for 43 years. Twenty-one years ago, she began a rewarding career teaching high school students Learn More ...
