Bernardsville Public Library is pleased to present "Stay, This Moment - Photographs by Larry Kerner.” The show will be on view from June 2 to June 28, 2019 at 1 Anderson Hill Road, Bernardsville. Hiking and camping while young introduced Mr. Kerner to the grandeur of nature and gave him respect for the preservation of wilderness. The West Coast piqued his interest, and he began capturing images on film in color and in black and white. Since then, his camera has been “his eyes.” His interpretations range from cloud-capped canyons to tumbling mountain streams and waterfalls. The images in this show have been captured on film and digital media. Mr. Kerner is a member of the Chatham Township Art League and the Vailsburg Camera Club of Springfield. He lives in Chatham Township, NJ. The show will be open for viewing during regular library hours, unless a meeting is in progress. For more information on the show, call the library at 908-766-0118.

Friday Afternoon Movie at Bernardsville Library: “Three Identical Strangers”

June 21 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
NJ United States + Google Map
Free

On Friday, June 21 at 2:00 pm, Bernardsville Public Library will present a free screening of "Three Identical Strangers" (2018), a documentary about identical triplets who were separated at birth and adopted by three different families. Years later, their amazing reunion became a global sensation, but it also unearthed an unimaginable secret that had radical repercussions. Manohla Dargis, film critic for The New York Times, wrote of the movie, “Engrossing, and sometimes enraging, the movie tells of triplets who, after being adopted separately at birth, were reunited by happenstance. None of the men — or their families — knew about the others, which naturally led to questions and has inspired the director Tim Wardle to turn their mysterious history into a detective story in reverse, one that begins with the seeming denouement (the happy reunion) and then moves back and forth across time… Nothing, though, would prove easy or obvious about their stories, which grow darker and more disturbing as “Three Identical Strangers” develops into a shocker.” Viewers are encouraged to linger after the film to talk about it. Ed English will provide a brief document to start the discussion, and there is always a spirited conversation about character, motivation Learn More ...
