Women in the Arts (Art Show) @ the Farmstead Arts Center

The Farmstead Arts Center presents the Women in the Arts show, an exhibition which will display work by notable women artists in honor of Women’s History Month. The show be displayed in the Farmstead gallery from March 3rd to April 7th. Free admission. Farmstead Arts’ annual celebration of Women’s History Month will kick off with the Women in the Arts exhibit, featuring work by five regional artists: Roberta Scott of Middlesex, Laura Shabazz of Bernardsville, Harmony Dougher of Summit, Irene Grabowski of Basking Ridge, and Diane Churchill of Nyack, NY. The exhibit will feature a variety of mediums, including painting, collage and photography. Most works will be for sale. An opening reception will take place on March 3rd from 1pm to 4pm. Gallery hours for Women in the Arts will be held from Mondays to Wednesdays, 10am to 1pm, and Saturdays and Sundays, 1pm to 4pm, excluding March 17th and March 31st.

It’s that time again – Grilled Cheese Month at the Grain House! Our chef has created a new grilled cheese sandwich for lunch every weekday in April! There are just so many ways to celebrate America’s favorite sandwich, and the Grain House is offering an entire month of grilled cheese creations. These sandwiches will be offered for weekday lunch (11:30am – 4:30pm) only.

ReelAbilities Film Festival New Jersey This film festival in the largest in the US dedicated to promoting awareness and appreciation of the lives, stories and artistic expression of people with different disabilities. Friday, April 5 at 12PM. Fee $5 Includes pizza lunch Film Deej with Director: Robert Rooy Overview: DJ Savarese (“Deej”) finds comfort in words, as expressed by his poetry belying his high school senior standing. Yet he only “speaks” though a text-to-voice synthesizer. Adopted by a living and supportive family, Deej navigates the college admission process as a young adult on the autistic spectrum, while confronting obstacles to inclusion.

You can participate by visiting the Barnes and Noble Store in Bridgewater (Somerville Circle). Encouraging friends and family to stop by as well!
