Meet Sparkee of the Somerset Patriots!

Join us for a special meet and greet with Central Jersey’s most lovable mascot, Somerset Patriots’ very own Sparkee!

Making his debut in July of 1998, Sparkee has since gone on to become one of the most popular characters in the Central New Jersey area. Sparkee received his name in a contest run to help the team name the mascot before the Somerset Patriots even played a game. He is named after New York Yankees legend and then Somerset Patriots manager Sparky Lyle. His named was spelled S-p-a-r-k-e-e to give him his own identity, though he does have Sparky’s handlebar mustache worked into his look.
