Come join the Ukrainian History and Education Center for self-guided and expert-guided tours at St. Andrew Cemetery & Mausoleum, the Fisher Family Cemetery and St. Andrew Memorial Church in Somerset/South Bound Brook! Saturday, October 8, 2022 Hours: 10 am to 5 pm Guided Tour: 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm Sunday, October 9, 2022 Hours: Noon to 4 pm Guided Tour: 2 pm Weekend Highlights Include: *Self-guided tour of St. Andrew Cemetery & Mausoleum highlights *Fisher Family Cemetery plot *Video presentation on the history of the cemetery and St. Andrew Memorial Church *Printed and online (smartphone) walking guide *Scavenger hunt and other kid’s activities *All tours and presentations will be outdoors *St. Andrew Memorial Church will be opened for private reflection (stairs & wheelchair accessible) Ample parking at 280 Main Street / South Bound Brook, NJ 08880 This two-day event is part of Somerset County's Weekend Journey Through the Past. This year, join us for a Special Experience on the Courthouse Green in Somerville… Step inside a replica of George Washington’s Revolutionary War Tent! George Washington's Revolutionary War tent was the office and sleeping quarters that Washington used as the Continental Army’s command center. Somerset County welcomes the Museum of the American Revolution and their replica of Washington's tent to the Courthouse Green this Journey through the Past. Tent set up begins at 9:30 a.m. on October 8, 2022, come early and help set it up!

The Lady-in-Waiting’s “Legend of Sleepy Hollow”
NJThe Princess of Lamballe, best friend and lady-in-waiting to Marie-Antoinette, reflects on an age of revolutions across France, England and America and offers a dramatic abridged reading of Washington Irving’s “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.” Please bring your own lawn chairs or blankets for this outdoors program with Alisa Dupuy of the Ladies of History: https://www.theladiesofhistory.com/home Following the program, learn about and visit the historic gravestones at Old Dutch Parsonage restored in spring 2022 by a stone mason with experience at historic sites across New Jersey and New York including the Old Dutch Church at Sleepy Hollow. This restoration was made possible by a gift of the New Jersey Society of the Sons of the Revolution to the Wallace House and Old Dutch Parsonage Association. The Wallace House and Old Dutch Parsonage Association are dedicated supporters of Wallace House & Old Dutch Parsonage State Historic Sites marking 125 years of civic engagement and leadership in the historic preservation of Wallace House & Old Dutch Parsonage beginning with the Revolutionary Memorial Society of New Jersey in 1897. NJOctober 21 - November 6 Friday & Saturday - 8PM Sunday - 2PM Adults $20 - Seniors/Students $18 The scene is a small Southern town where Colonel and Christine Penmark live with their daughter, Rhoda. Little Rhoda Penmark is the evil queen of the story. On the surface she is sweet, charming, full of old-fashioned graces, loved by her parents, admired by all her elders. But Rhoda's mother has an uneasy feeling about her. When one of Rhoda's schoolmates is mysteriously drowned at a picnic, Mrs. Penmark is alarmed. For the boy who was drowned was the one who had won the penmanship medal that Rhoda felt she deserved.
